Program Description

Event Details

Join us for a hands-on exploration of how plants make oxygen! In this interactive STEAM Lab, kids will create leaf discs and watch them float as oxygen bubbles form during photosynthesis. Participants will experiment with light, water, and CO₂ levels, make predictions, and observe science in action.

Along the way, we’ll explore how plants use sunlight to make food, why chlorophyll is green, and how oxygen is produced—connecting biology to the real world.

This STEAM Lab is designed for kids in grades 2–5 and encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on discovery. Register online, at the Youth Desk, or call 928.777.1537.

Prescott Public Library and Yavapai Exploration and Science are teaming up to offer school-age children a chance to experience STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) through interactive and engaging activities. Presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.
