In the fun illustrated adventure Inkling by Kenneth Oppel, Ethan may not be super cool, but his dad is. The problem is that after a tragic family loss, Ethan’s famous comic book artist dad can’t seem to draw anymore or do much of anything else either. Then the untalented Ethan gets stuck drawing a comic for a school project (his worst nightmare). Everything starts to change when a magical ink-blot creation emerges from his dad’s sketches to help get Ethan’s project, and maybe his life, back on track.
For youth, grades 5-6. Register online, at the Youth Desk, or call 928.777.1537.
Note: The fall session of Inktastic meets at 4 pm on September 10, October 8, and November 12. All registered members will receive a personal copy of each month’s book. If your family registers more than one child for this book club, you will receive just one copy of the book. This will make the program available to more children.
