Event Details
Seeds for a Future is a non-profit established in Prescott in 2009 and which strives to break the malnutrition, disease, and poverty cycles that have plagued Guatemala for many generations. This training and mentorship program provides education and resources for over 5,200 families in rural communities across rural Guatemala. This textile and craft display presents textiles from Guatemala and Indonesia, comparing and contrasting them to show their richness of design, color, and techniques. Contemporary needs and new responsibilities in daily life are transitioning shifting traditional handmaking skills into the background. Seeds for a Future wants to highlight some of these traditional skills so that they are not forgotten.
