Falls are one of the leading causes of death and injury in older adults. The good news: falls are preventable.  There are many factors that can increase one’s chances of falling, and one of the biggest culprits is the use of certain medications. This presentation will highlight how medications can increase the risk of falling and what you can do to help lower that risk.

Candice Buntin, PharmD obtained her Bachelor's Degree in nutrition and her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Arizona.  She completed her postgraduate residency training at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson.  Being born and raised in Prescott, she was happy to return home as a clinical staff pharmacist at Dignity Health- Yavapai Regional Medical Center.  Her interests include critical care and medication safety with particular emphasis on rural health.

Raquel Martinez was born and raised in the beautiful state of Arizona. She did her undergraduate studies at Northern Arizona University and received her PharmD at the University of Arizona. She just started her pharmacy residency at Dignity Health Regional Medical Center this year on July 1st.
